The WAI starter motor 18748N is a suitable starter motor for Yamaha XVS 1100 models and replaces the original part numbers 5EL-81890-00 & 5EL-81890-01. This starter motor turns clockwise and has 13 teeth. WAI is a leading manufacturer that has been producing electrical parts for the automotive industry since 1978. They strive to be the first to bring the latest products to the market, without losing quality. Without the starter it is quite a hassle to start the motorcycle. It is part of the starting system. As soon as the start button is pressed, the starter motor receives power from the battery. The starter motor gear will start to rotate and move the crankshaft. Once the engine is running, it is no longer necessary for the starter motor to rotate and is disengaged when the start button is released.
