Full description

With an AFAM chain tool Easy Riv 5 you finally have the tool that makes riveting AFAM chains easy. This is the simple, strong and cheap solution. With the help of this chain tool you can easily press on rivet links and all closing plates of a masterlink with clip. Please note: this tool is only suitable for hollow shaft master links with chain sizes 520, 525 and 530. In addition, it is not suitable for riveting timing chains. The Easy Riv 5 consists of 4 parts, namely a support plate, a pressure plate with a riveting point on the other side and two tension screws. The use is simple: make sure that you have greased the shafts of the master link and any X or O-rings well before riveting. To make placing the master link easier, it is best to place the ends of the chain on the rear sprocket. Then place the master link and press the side plate lightly onto the shafts with pliers. Always press with the pliers at the height of the axles and not in the middle of the already mounted side plate. When the chain is slightly connected, you can turn the master link between the front and rear sprocket. Then loosen the screws as much as possible and remove one screw to be able to place the appliance over the chain. The recesses of the support and pressure plate face inwards and thus towards each other. Tighten the two screws, so that the appliance sits nicely in the middle of the master link. Make sure that the shafts are aligned in the recess of the support and pressure plate. Then tighten the pressure plate with the two screws progressively and alternately with a quarter turn, so that the side plate to be mounted is nicely guided on the shafts. Then tighten until the ends of the pressure plate touch the neighboring plates of the chain. As a result, the side plate of your master link has the same distance as the other links of the chain and the correct pressure on the rings. Then loosen the screws completely and remove the appliance. For a master link with clips, you can now mount the clips with the closed side facing in the direction of travel. For master links with a hollow shaft, you have to turn the pressure plate and rivet the closing link.
